Forum Rules

The Wine SA forums are designed to allow visitors to our site to express their opinions and discuss wine-related issues. Anyone is welcome to join, as long as they abide by the following rules. Please read these carefully before joining, as these rules will be applied and therefore need to be observed when posting to the forum.

FORUM RULES
• Posts must be made to the correct portion of the forum. Posts which are sent to the incorrect parts may be deleted, and persistent offenders will be given a warning. Make sure to read the description of the forum section you intend to post into, and check that your post is relevant
• Posts should be made in English, the language of this forum. Posters should also use conventional English, so txtspeak, for example, or symbols, numbers and other methods of writing which might make it harder for other readers.
• Users should not use block capitals in their posts, as this is considered to be shouting in internet forums. In addition, posts should not contain excessive amounts of punctuation, including exclamation marks.
• Have respect for other posters. Forums are a social group, and users need to behave in a polite and civilized manner. Forum moderators will accept no flaming or abusive posts, and the sender of such posts will be given a formal warning. Persistent offenders will be banned.
• In a similar vein, posters should remember that the forum is for the entertainment of everyone, and should therefore avoid offensive posts, or those which are not suitable for everyone. Any out of order posts, texts images or links to these items will not be accepted, and will result in a warning.
• This forum has moderators, and does not need any assistance from other posters. Do not respond to offensive posts, or behave in a manner that could be offensive. If you do spot posts which are not abiding by the rules, then please point this out, but do not act yourself. Users who regularly behave as moderators will be warned, and could be banned.
• Please remember copyright laws, and do not post anything which contains, or links to, material which has been created by others. Pay particular attention to images which are posted, as they can use excessive amounts of bandwidth.
• Use a reasonable topic description for a new post, such as ‘Wines of Stellenbosch‘, or ‘My favourite rose wine’. Try to make the topic description relevant to the post, and also clear to readers. Do not post ‘Red wines‘ or ‘Coastal Region‘, as this is too vague.
• Make use of the test section if you wish to check your post before moving on to the standard forums. Test posts in the latter forums will not be accepted.
• No spam of any kind. We do not accept business posts from web owners, adverts for wine cellars, or similar posts. Persistent spamming will result in a ban for the user.
• Do not give away information, including names, addresses or phone numbers, on this board. This includes your own information, and that of anyone else in the forum.
• Private messages between users on the forum will also be subject to these rules, and any messages which contravene the rules can lead to the revocation of the private messaging option.

The Wine Forum support team have the right to remove any post which they consider to be contrary to these rules, and users can expect to be warned. Persistent offenders will be banned. No debate about removed posts will be entered into with forum users.
