The South African Wine Taster Course
The South African Wine Taster course, or SAWT, is an idea borne out of Wine SA and various wine enthusiasts, and aims to promote the inclusion of wine into anyone’s stay in the wine regions of South Africa.
The idea is that while visiting the Cape, or any wine area in South Africa, that one tastes a number of wines, and is educated to a small degree in wine, sufficient to say that one is a proficient wine taster in one’s own right. While this bears little value on somebody’s résumé, it is a great accomplishment for tourists and guests to the Cape nonetheless, and requires that one tastes a variety of South African wines, often within a short stay in the Winelands.
The SAWT is launching during 2012 and those interested in participating should email us through our contact form on the website’s right hand sidebar. Wine farms and estates should also prepare themselves for the influx of wine tasters enquiring about the South African Wine Taster course at their farms.
