Wieta, the Agricultural and Ethical Trade Initiative in South Africa, is one of the most important of modern agriculture in the country. Coming from a basis in the Ethical Trading Initiative which was concerned with the wine industry, Wieta brought together many different groups from across the industry, and attempts to influence them into producing ethical wines through growing standards, adherence to a Code of Good Practice, and taking measures against wine producers that do not follow the standards described.
